So if no pirated content was available on the site I start to wonder why camsites found bookmark.cam so objectionable. They didn't disseminate any content that wasn't already available live. So how could it be a DMCA infraction? All these sites embed their cams on porn websites everywhere to drive traffic to their own site - bookmak just went pro with the concept. Plus with the added function of being to find models' alias accounts on other sites, it offered a layer of customer protection the legitimate cam sites deplorably failed to deliver. Maybe it's copium but maybe bookmark is just doing some maintenance or something and redirected everyone over to Chaturbate in the interim. If it's really gone I will miss it.

VODs were available for purchase via btc in the past, few years ago.

You topped up your account and you could download/buy VODs for a price of $0.20 per 1GB.
Example if you topped up $20 worth of BTC, you'd have 100GB to spend. If you buy a VOD that is 5GB in size, you'd end up with 95GB left.

The “good” news is, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen them do this sort of “redirect” to CB. It’s more than likely maintenance but who knows. I’ll be honest I half hope that they don’t come back because I feel l like that site fuels cam addiction and spending way too much $$. I actually sometimes wondered if CB is actually secretly complicit as the site had no advertisements. I now have no desire now to go on CB if I know there’s no way to see what I’m getting into. Their notification system was good too. Maybe this is a good thing.

I agree. One of the predecessors was camshowhub. You could buy complete shows of your favourite models with bitcoins. It had a sort of wallet with a balance. I guess the owners shut down the site themselves and ran with the money.... haha, I think some of us lost quite a bit on there. The site that evolved out of that was the current one, which now redirects to chatur, I also thought there was a stealth cooperation with those camsites. Obviously I don't have the data, but I think it enhanced traffic and the money flow. I have seen many models complain about these third parties allegedly running away with their content, but I think that in practice this Bookmarkcam and even Camshowhub were in their favour and that their vanity blinded them (some of these girls are really spoiled by their sugar dads...). Bookmark made me aware of the cute ones. Also you could follow them when they changed accounts, which happens quite often for some reason. My educated guess (-; is that there will be a follow up.

This camming business is for many girls in some huge inflation countries a very lucrative way of earning money, since they sometimes also earn outside the platform (you can buy their whatspp for instance for huge number of tokens), although the big winners are the owners, they are extremely rich. These platforms are relatively low in costs, the percentage that is distracted from the models is huge.

Exactly I knew I remembered that this re-direct to CB was exactly what happened last time during the transition from csh to bm. If anything it’s hopeful that’ll it’ll be back:On the other hand, one thing I can’t help but wonder is this: After the transition to BM, I thought it was a great idea on their part to keep the thumbnails behind a basic ”email registration wall”. This kept the thumbnails from being indexed by the search engines and were thus not technically made public. I’m not a copyright lawyer but certainly this helped curtail DMCA claims. However I had noticed that recently they made the thumbnails available without having to register which, if in fact all of this is due to a DMCA takedown request, I can’t help but wonder if that’s what did them in. As many others have pointed out, that site actually helps connect models and clients, especially newer models who still don’t have the exposure thanks to the ranking algorithm of many sites. The fact is: that site was an absolutely invaluable resource for certain types of users and in fact lead to more token buying and spending rather than the other way around. And for models who object to it and don’t want to be on there, all they have to do is opt out on cb’s (and I assume other sites’) setting where it says “appear on network sites”. Disable that and you’re good. But, hopefully it will be back. As I stated I completely stop using cam sites when I don’t have this resource as it becomes completely unusable for me.The last time it went down it was down for a month or two and I spent a whopping 0 hours on cam sites during that time. But, we do have hope they’ll be back . A DMCA takedown usually will not result in a website redirecting to another.

I was addicted to bookmark It was my guide to camsites i had many favorite models on various sites , it makes it much easier to choose and private the model when you see the thumbnails from her previous shows . Now i have money to spend with models but i feel something is missing ,hopefully it will not take too long to comeback.

yep a lot including me. its a leave alone camgirl recording software which is a lifesaver for when you are away and miss one of you camgirls shows, beware of clones of this program as they charge a subscription to use it. also there was a bell end on here promoting the clone software pretending to be good mates with the ctbrec creator asking you to take down any link or mention of ctbrec.
Ctbrec like bookmark, has had many takedowns and has gone under many names but ctbrec has stayed the longest.

i actually downloaded and tried it. It's pretty cool. I wish I knew about it sooner

I remember the site was down many times , sometimes it took only few days ,sometimes weeks or few months , i saw a post of some whore complaining in reddit 4 months ago to get down bookmark because there are thumbnails revealed her face.
